Shihan Geddes Hislop is a highly accomplished 6th Degree Purple Dragon Black Belt, boasting an impressive martial arts journey spanning over 35 years. Shihan Geddes is revered for the vast wisdom and knowledge he imparts in every class, making his teachings a source of inspiration and challenge for all students.
Shihan Geddes embarked on his martial arts journey in 1985 at the Purple Dragon World Headquarters. Initially in search of an Aikido program, he couldn’t help but be captivated by the allure of Don Jitsu Ryu, particularly its fascinating weapons aspect. In 1989, he made the move to the Cayman Islands, and in 1990, he established Purple Dragon Cayman Islands.
His expertise extends beyond martial arts; Shihan Geddes is also well-trained in Biology and Environmental Education, alongside his proficiency in Martial Arts and Fitness. His background includes years of experience in environmental education in Trinidad, WI, and a previous role as the Public Education Manager of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. Furthermore, he has been instrumental in operating educational camps in Cayman for a remarkable 11 years. Shihan Geddes Hislop is an exceptional figure, bringing a diverse wealth of knowledge and experience to the world of martial arts and education.
