Shihan Floyd Baptiste holds the distinguished rank of a 7th Degree Purple Dragon Black Belt. He is not only an ACE-certified personal trainer but also holds certification in CPR. With an impressive track record of over 30 years as a martial arts instructor and over 35 years of practising the Don Jitsu Ryu System, Shihan Floyd is a seasoned martial artist.
Shihan Floyd’s teaching style is dynamic, and his humble personality creates an engaging learning environment. His dedication to martial arts began in Trinidad under the guidance of Professor Anthony Thompson. He eagerly seized every opportunity to train and learn directly from Grand Master Professor Jacob, the founder of Purple Dragon.
On March 27th, 2016, Shihan Floyd received the esteemed promotion to the rank of Shihan. He proudly serves as the Head Instructor at the Purple Dragon Cayman Islands dojo and is a respected figure in the community. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the Police Service, particularly after Hurricane Ivan, and his numerous self-defence workshops in collaboration with organizations such as the Family Resource Centre, Crisis Centre, and the Cayman Islands National Airline, Cayman Airways. Through these efforts, he continues to share the knowledge of Don Jitsu with the people of the Cayman Islands. Shihan Floyd Baptiste is truly a dedicated Purple Dragon Warrior.
